GREENBAYPRESSGAZETTE.COM SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2018 11A GREEN BAY David R. Grovogel, age 82, of Green Bay, passed away at home, Monday, August 27, 2018. He was born December 18, 1935 in Sturgeon Bay, WI, to Harold Ethel (Webb) Grovogel. David graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School and went on to Milwaukee School of Engineering. He worked as an industrial engineer at various companies.

David served his country in the U.S. Army for three years, stationed in Okinawa, Japan. On Sep- tember 6, 1983, he married Sue Koepp in Sturgeon Bay and together they shared 35 years as husband and wife. He enjoyed walking along the beach with his Irish Setter, Sasha, swimming at his Lake Michi- gan cottage and spending time with his children, grandchildren and his cat, Luna. Survivors include his wife, Sue; three children: Michael (Shelly) Grovogel, Sue (Pat) Geniesse and Lisa (Gavin) Rolston; grandchildren: Amber, Rachel, Maria, Joel and Grace; sisters, Diane (Ed) DeMeuse and Linda (Bill) Schlaak; mother-in-law, Marnie Koepp; sister-in-law, Nancy DeChambre; and niece, Jordan DeChambre; and other nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; father-in- law, William Koepp; niece, Pam Wiegand. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. The family would like to thank Unity Hospice, especially Tara, Laurie and Darcy for their out- standing care of our beloved David. David R. Grovogel CHASE Frank Van Dreel, 82, Chase, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 30, 2018, with his fam- ily at his side.

The son of Frank and Edna (Johnson) Van Dreel was born November 13, 1935, in Langes Corners. On November 30, 1957, Frank married Mary Winter at Sacred Heart Church in Shawano. He worked in the cement industry for 38 years. Frank worked at Atlas Cement for 21 years, and later for Holcim for 17 years until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of St.

Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Sobieski. Frank had been a member of the Chase Sno-Chasers for over 40 years. He and his brother, Dean, worked together to establish the snowmobile trail throughout the Chase area. Frank and his son, Jeff, groomed that trail for many years. He liked traveling and going on road trips.

Frank made sure he always did the driving; everyone knew this was the only way he was going on a road trip. Frank and Mary belonged to a trap shooting league. They also enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Popple River. He especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary; children: Jerry (Sharon) Van Dreel, Chase, Cindy Dyer, Arizona, Connie (Steve) McDermid, Seymour; one daughter-in-law, Lesa Van Dreel, Chase; grandchildren: Jesse (Dejana Ernst) Van Dreel, Kayla (Derek Kaye) Van Dreel, Janel (Evan) Byron, Jason (Brittany) Van Dreel, and Riane Dyer; one step-granddaughter, Jessica (Steve) Brockmen; eight great grandchildren: Chelsea, Lucas, Jayden, Beckett, Jesse, Connor, Holly, and Maddie; two step-great grandchildren: Cael and Reed; siblings: Donna (Tom) Woosencraft, Dale (Sandra) Van Dreel, Dean (Linda) Van Dreel, Diane (Neil) Ditzman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Van Dreel. Friends may call at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 6051 Noble So- bieski, from p.m. Tuesday. Visitation continues after 10:00 a.m.

Wednesday at the church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Fr. Antonio De Los Santos presiding. Burial will follow in St.

She was born April 8, 1930 to the late Walter and Katherine (Smurawa) Bartkowiak. On August 27, 1949, she married Jack O. Kirby in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2008. Gladys was a 32 year cancer survivor and fought a courageous battle to the bitter end.

She lived the better part of her adult life in Chicago where she was a long-time, professional employee for CNA Insurance Co. She was very active in youth orga- nizations in Chicago. After retirement, she moved to Green Bay to be closer to family. She was a volunteer for many organi- zations, traveled to many places, loved bowling and was an avid reader. She was to her loving husband.

Her glass was always half full, never half empty. She made friends easily and was loved by all who met her. She is survived and will be missed by her brothers, Walter (Marilyn) Bartkowiak and Charles Miller, her special niece and nephew, Joan and Bill Radue and many other nieces and nephews, along with her canine, love In addition to her parents, her in-laws, Clarence and Ann Kirby and her husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Bartkowiak and his wife, Sue; her sisters and their husbands, Lillian and Leo Wengrzyn, Virginia and Russell McKeefry and Tillie and O. M. Harrison; and her brothers-in-law, Donald and Kenneth Kirby.

Visitation for Gladys will be held Monday, September 3, 2018, at Lyn- dahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Deacon James Gauthier officiating. Schmidt, 85, Green Bay, formerly Kelly Lake and Oconto Falls, died Wednesday evening, August 29, 2018 at Tender Hearts Assisted Living in Howard. She was born October 27, 1932 in a log cabin to Maurice and Malvina (Monigal) Closser. Margaret attended Gillett Public Schools, graduating from high school with the class of 1950. On September 13, 1952 she married Allan Schmidt at Grace Lutheran Church in Green Bay. The couple lived in Gillett and Kewaunee before moving to Oconto Falls in 1960.

Margaret worked in the office of Dr. Clyde Siefert for 30 years until retirement. The couple retired to their home at Kelly Lake in 1999 and just moved to Green Bay in 2014. She had been a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Oconto Falls and was currently a member of Our Lutheran Church in Suring. Survivors are her three children, Deb (husband Timothy Lofgren) Schmidt, Waupaca; Steven Allan (Lori) Schmidt, La Crosse; Sherry Schmidt, Milwaukee; daughter-in-law and special friend, Dana Mrarcek; five grandchildren, Erich Allan ((Robin) Schmidt, Joseph (Megan) Schmidt and Elisabeth Schmidt; Hope (Jason) Rajasinghe and Jin Lofgren-Schmidt; two great grandchil- dren, Leo John and Catherine Allan; two sisters, Esther Pyter and Dorothy Sylvester, both of Milwaukee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2014, an infant twin sister Marguerite, three sisters, Eileen Brazeau, Kathleen Voelker and Madeline Bach and one brother, Ken Closser.
