Coolidge of Salinas died Friday at Natividad Medical Center following a brief illness. Her age was omitted at her request. Mrs. Coolidge was a native of Austin. Texas, and lived in the Salinas area for more than 50 years.
She was a homemaker and member of the Watsonville Community Band and Monterey Bay Hot Jazz Society, She was the music librarian for the Watsonville Community Band for more than 25 years and had sung professionally since the age of 12. She sang with the Salinas Cowboy Band in her earlier years as well as at several local night clubs. Mrs. Coolidge is survived by her daughters, Karen Bennett, of Prunedale and Joni Castro-Mendivil, of Modesto; her sons, Larry Coolidge, of Ogden, Utah, and Ron Coolidge, of Pacific Grove; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m.
and 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Healey Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.

Lina May Foley of King City died Gospel singer Marion Williams dead at age 66 New York Times News Service Marion Williams, a pioneering gospel singer, died Saturday at the Albert Einstein Medical Institute in Philadelphia. She was 66. The cause was vascular disease, said her record producer, Anthony Heilbut. Williams was a flamboyants singer who put her songs across with pure sustained tones, swooping phrases and deep growls.
Her influence was heard throughout gospel music and in secular music as well.
