2023 Pitt Football Home Game Promotions Announced - Pitt Panthers #H2P (2024)

PITTSBURGH—Promotional dates and themes for Pitt's six football home games at Acrisure Stadium have been announced this week ahead of the Panthers' highly anticipated 2023 campaign.

Coach Pat Narduzzi enters his ninth season as Pitt looks to build on consecutive top-25 finishes and a total of 20 wins over the last two years – a feature the program hasn't achieved in four decades.

Pitt's 2023 home slate includes a nonconference rivalry matchup and several key ACC games that could determine who represents the conference in the championship game in Charlotte in December.

Season tickets are still on sale as well as mini-plan options for Pitt fans.

Here are Pitt's 2023 promotional dates for the fall football season:

Saturday, September 2: Pitt vs. Wofford

As is traditional, Labor Day weekend also marks the return of theAcrisure Stadium Kickoff and Rib Festivaloutside the stadium on Art Rooney Avenue throughout the first weekend of September.

The Panthers welcome Wofford for the season opener against the FCS program from South Carolina. The 3:30 p.m. kickoff will give fans a chance to tailgate and enjoy the North Shore's pregame and postgame festivities annually associated with the holiday weekend football season kickoff.

Saturday, September 9: Pitt vs. Cincinnati

The Panthers and Bearcats renew the River City Rivalry for the first time since 2012 for an exciting nonconference matchup at Acrisure Stadium with a pleasant 6:30 p.m. evening game time.

The contest between former Big East rivals that met annually from 2005-12 will provide an early season test for the Panthers against the newest members of the Big 12 and serve as Pitt's Hail to Heroes game. Active and former military members, first responders and medical professionals will be recognized and presented with discounted tickets and special gameday experiences.

Saturday, September 23: Pitt vs. North Carolina

Following a trip to West Virginia for the Backyard Brawl, Pitt opens its conference slate by welcoming North Carolina for a key early season ACC contest between the last two teams to represent the Coastal Division at the ACC Championship Game. With no divisions in the league this season, this game will still give the winner a great start in pursuit of a return trip to play for a title in Charlotte.

Pitt will welcome back several legendary Forever Panthers for Hall of Fame Weekend with the 2023 Pitt Athletics Hall of Fame induction class to be honored before and during the game.

The matchup with the Tar Heels will also be Band Day, allowing local high school marching bands to attend the game and perform alongside the Pitt Band; Spirit Day, giving local cheer and dance teams the chance to attend a pregame clinic hosted by Pitt's spirit squads and receive discounted tickets; and Education Day, with teachers available to purchase discounted tickets as well.

Saturday, October 14: Pitt vs. Louisville

Pitt's only October home date at Acrisure Stadium sees Louisville visit for an enticing ACC clash and is the University of Pittsburgh's annual Homecoming weekend, with Alumni Association activities planned.

Annually one of the biggest events on the calendar for the Pitt community, this will serve as the first Homecoming for new Chancellor Joan T.A. Gabel, who recently started in her new leadership role.

Saturday, November 4: Pitt vs. Florida State

ACC fans across the league have Pitt's November clash with Florida State highlighted as two of the top programs in the conference meet for a potentially decisive game between two preseason favorites.

The Seminoles' first trip to Pittsburgh since 2013 will offer Family Weekend deals as parents of current and past Pitt students are encouraged to visit campus and attend what could be one of the biggest games of the college football season at Acrisure Stadium.

Thursday, November 16: Pitt vs. Boston College

Pitt's sixth and final home game will once again serve as Senior Day for the departing Panthers, who will be recognized before the ESPN Thursday Night 7 p.m. game against the visiting BC Eagles.

The 2023 home finale will also host Panther Club Appreciation Day.
